11/26/18 – Ilya Mondrowski, a Centennial Ice Arena ice skater, has qualified to compete in the United States Figure Skating (USFS) National Championships that will take place in Detroit, Michigan in January 2019. Mondrowski, 14, of Highland Park and his ice dance partner Kiana Pan, 12, of Bolingbrook secured their place at the USFS National Championships after placing third in the Juvenile Ice Dance Division at the Midwestern Sectional Figure Skating Championships that were held in Fort Wayne, Indiana on November 13-17.  The team competed against eight other ice dance teams from Texas, Minnesota, Michigan, Tennessee, Iowa and Illinois in the Midwestern Sectionals.
