Olympic and National Champion Skaters to Present Seminar at Centennial

12/17/18 –  2014 Olympic Skater Stefania Berton and US National Champion Rockne Brubaker will present a “Jump and Spin” seminar to Centennial Ice Arena Free Skate 1 – High Free Skate students on Saturday, January 19 from 8:40 – 9am.  Berton and Brubaker will cover toe jumps, edge jumps and spin variations.  The seminar will take place at Centennial Ice Arena, 3100 Trail Way.  The fee is $25, to register click here

About Stefania Berton

Berton was born and raised in Italy and started skating at the age of four.    She was part of the Italian national team by the age 12 and in 2006 she reached the Junior Grand Prix Final as a single skater. In 2009,  Berton decided to switch discipline and became a pair skater. With partner Ondrej Hotarek, she started racking the first ever Grand Prix Medals for her country, one of which, the gold medal at Skate Canada. In 2013, Berton was the first to medal at the European Championships and qualify for the 2014 Sochi Olympics where she achieved the 4th place in the Team Event. Berton is now based at Fox Valley Ice Arena with her husband Rockne and co directs the rink and team coaches with him. She trained the 2015 Hungarian Pairs Champions, the 2016 US Juvenile Pairs Champions, and the 2017 US Pairs Champions.

About Rockne Brubaker

Rockne Brubaker was born in St.Louis, Missouri and raised in Algonquin, Illinois. He started skating at the age of four. With a passion for sports Brubaker also played hockey and baseball.   When he was 15 years-old Brubaker decided to dedicate himself completely to Pairs skating. He moved to Colorado at the age of 17 to follow his dream and became Junior World Champion and two time US National Champion with his partner Keauna McLaughlin. By 2014,  Brubaker decided to retire and became Skating Director at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois. There he coaches with his wife, Stefania, the 2015 Hungarian Pairs Champions, the 2016 US Juvenile Pairs Champions and the 2017 US Pairs Champions.
