Spring Fling in the Arts for Ages 4 & Up/ Kite Festival for All Ages

Spring Fling in the Arts Come join us for our Spring Open House and explore our Ceramic and Art Studios at West Ridge Center. Dress for a mess! For Ages 4 & Up from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Children will make an art project and have the chance to play with clay! Children 9 and older can try wheel throwing on our pottery wheels.

Adults can design and create a colorful tile, try the pottery wheel or hand build a simple bowl form. For just $5 each, adults can choose to have their creations fired in our gas kiln and picked up after June 1.

At 11 am & 1 pm there will be a demonstration of the ancient Japanese art of Raku firing. Watch this exciting and colorful proecss or for just $10, actually be a part of it by easily glazing one of our read-to-go pots and we'll fire it for you on the spot! (Limited amount will be available).

There will be a ceramic art show and sale displaying the creations of our faculty and students in our adult program.

 

Kite Festival for all ages from 10 am - 4 pm

Come soar with the Chicago Kite/Kite Harbor

Enjoy watching amazing kite stunts, tricks and flips and make your own free paper kite or bring your favorite from home! (Kite kits will also be available for purchase.)

In case of inclement weather, the Kite Festival will be cancelled.
