Residents to Benefit From New Lakefront Parking Policies
Release Date: May. 20, 2009
Release Date: May. 20, 2009
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., May, 20, 2009— With summer just around the corner, the employees of the Park District of Highland Park are hard at work preparing facilities and parks for the fun outdoor season. This year the District has implemented a new parking policy for lakefront facilities to ensure residents of Highland Park get the most out of summer on the lake.
Park Avenue Boating Beach, Central, Moraine, Millard and Rosewood Park and Beach will each be affected by the new parking policy. The District intends that the policy will reduce illegally parked vehicles, increase parking availability to the boating public on volume boating days and enhance resident availability during days when boating is not at peak periods.
Currently, warning cards are being placed on those cars parked at one of the above lakefront facilities that are not displaying the proper parking decal. Also, new parking signage is being installed for informational purposes at each location. Enforcement of the new parking policies will begin in June, meaning that after June 1 any car parked at one of the lakefront beaches without the proper decal will be given a $75 parking ticket. The new policy is as follows:
What do you need to do to Park at Park Avenue Boating beach?
Residents: Your City of Highland Park Sticker is valid for parking at Park Avenue Monday-Friday anytime and on weekends and holidays after 3:00 p.m.
Nonresidents: You may purchase a Lakefront Parking Decal ($100) valid for parking at Park Avenue Monday-Friday only, excluding holidays.
What do you need to do to park at Moraine, Central, Millard and/or Rosewood Park and Beach?

Nonresidents: You may purchase a Lakefront Parking Decal ($100) valid for parking at all of the above listed Park District properties.
