HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., February 20, 2007—Winter is almost over, which means that the sap in maple trees is flowing. Step outside and head to Sunset Woods Park on Saturday, March 3 for a leisurely time learning about sugar maple trees, how to identify them, the progress by which trees convert starch to sap, collecting the sap and turning it into maple syrup. After making rounds through the trees, enjoy hot pancakes and syrup!
Maple Syrup Celebration is from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Sunset Woods Park, 1801 Sunset Road, Highland Park on Saturday, March 3. For more information please call 847.433.6901 or visit us online at www.pdhp.org. This program is appropriate for adults and children ages 8 and up. There is a fee of $8 per person.
