HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., November 18, 2009— This year the Park District of Highland Park has seen an increase in the need for grant-in-aid. Snowflakes for S.M.I.L.E. allows patrons the opportunity to help raise money for the Park District’s grant-in-aid program, S.M.I.L.E., by purchasing and coloring a snowflake for $5 at West Ridge Center (636 Ridge Road) now through January. The decorated snowflakes will be displayed in the halls of West Ridge Center creating a winter wonderland for all to enjoy.
S.M.I.L.E. was created in 1992 to help raise funds to be given back to the community by making it possible for families in need of financial assistance to participate in recreational programs offered by the Park District.
