Double the Holiday Fun

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., December 10, 2008— Join the Park District of Highland Park on Saturday, December 13 for two holiday special events. Starting off the day at 10:00 a.m. will be the Reindeer Romp at West Ridge Center, 636 Ridge Road. Families will enjoy hot chocolate and donuts courtesy of Highland Park Bank and Trust, a candy cane hunt and the chance to meet real live reindeer.

Then, head to the downtown Highland Park Metra Train Station, 1800 St. Johns Avenue, for the Polar Express that begins at 3:00 p.m. Highland Park Bank and Trust will also be at this event handing out complimentary hot chocolate and donuts as families wait for the train. This all-time favorite event gives families a chance to ride the train to the North Pole while hearing the magical story, “Polar Express,” by Chris Van Allsburg. The train will pick up Santa at the North Pole (Waukegan) and then head back to Highland Park.
