Prairie Chicken Birding Trip

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., March 14, 2007— Join Heller Nature Center as we travel to the Prairie Ridge State Natural Area in Newton, IL for a day of grassland birds and prairie chickens! Prairie Ridge is one of the best sites in Illinois for observing rare species of grassland wildlife. Its 3,500-acres has the distinction of having the state’s largest breeding population of Northern Harriers, Short-eared Owls, as well as the best booming ground of Greater Prairie Chickens!
This program will meet at Heller Nature Center,
2821 Ridge Road, Highland Parkat 9:00 a.m. on March 23 and return on March 24 at 5:00 p.m. This program is for adults. The fee is $135 per person and includes transportation, tour guides, hotel, admission and contribution to Prairie Ridge. Pre-registration is required for this event.
