Welcome to the Recreation Center of Highland Park

We invite you to take time out to energize, socialize and revitalize every day. For the first time under one roof, the Park District of Highland Park offers you a fully handicapped-accessible, state-of-the-art facility that includes a fitness center, aquatic center, gymnasiums, locker rooms, an indoor café, multi-purpose and meeting rooms, and group fitness studio. This is a facility where we know you’ll want to spend time with family and friends. So take time to revitalize with yoga while your kids take swimming lessons. Or energize with a game of basketball while your spouse works out in a spin class.Then, slow down and socialize with friends over juice or coffee at The Club Café. At the Recreation Center of Highland Park, we invite you to enjoy an outstanding recreational and fitness experience with park district service and tradition.

The Recreation Cener is mixing it up in July with FUN & FIT programs especially for Members! Try our 10-mile challenge, Every Mile Counts, and/or try our Connect 4 workout game.

Every Mile Counts

10-Mile Challenge
Run. Walk. Swim

Complete the challenge and be entered in a raffle to win:

  • iPod Shuffle
  • Three, 1-hour Personal Training Sessions
    (days, times & trainer are not guaranteed)
  • $150 Recreation Center Gift Certificate

3 ways to complete your miles:

  • Recreation Center Indoor Track (12 laps = 1 mile)
  • Recreation Center Treadmill
  • Recreation Center Pool (72 lengths or 36 laps = 1 mile)

Rules:

  • Miles must be completed at the Recreation Center of Highland Park July 1-31.
  • Participants can complete a maximum of 2 miles per day.
  • Cards must be punched by Recreation Center staff to verify miles were completed.
  • Every Mile Counts cards must be turned in by Monday, August 3rd. Raffle winners will be announced Wednesday, August 5th by noon.
  • The Recreation Center is not responsible for lost or stolen cards; punches from lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.

Connect 4

The more workout the better chance you have to win! Each day the Recreation Center will randomly select a picture. If you scan-in to workout and the picture is on your Connect 4 game card, you get stamped. Be the first 100 particapants to Connect 4 stamps and you win!

Rules:

  • All membership (90 days and longer) are eligible to play.
  • Each participant is allowed one Connect 4 card.
  • Participants must scan in to be eligible to receive a stamp on a given day's picture.
  • Any card that includes the day's picture will be stamped; however, once a picture has been drawn, it will not be drawn again. Stamps for each picture can only be received the day the picture is drawn corresponsing to the day a participant is in attendance at the Recreation Center.
  • For a "Connect 4", pictures must be stamped in a row either vertically, horizontally or diagonally.
  • The first 100 "Connect 4" winners to present their card at the fitness desk will receive a t-shirt. Cards may be kept to continue play toward the Blackout Challenge. All "Connect 4" winners will be placed in a raffle at the end of the month to have a chance to win a $100 Recreation Center gift certificate.
  • Any participant who has every square stamped (Blackout Challenge) will be entered into an additional drawing to win on of three $25 gift certificates at the end of the month.
  • The Recreation Center of Highland Park is not responsible for lost or stolen cards; stamps from lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.

Fit Friends Referral Program

Share the sweat and joy of working out with your friends. Encourage a friend or several friends to sign up for an annual membership at the Recreation Center of Highland Park and YOU will be rewarded through our Fit Friends Reward Program. Just give the enclosed referral card to your ‘fit’ friend with your name filled in, have your friend turn in the card when he/she signs up for an annual membership and you will be rewarded (and have a friend to work out with)!

Rewards
(Rewards are subject to change. Referral Rewards are valid for one year from the date of the first referral.)

1st Referral: A certificate to use toward your next annual membership renewal. The certificate will be valid for $25 off an individual annual membership or $50 off a family or couple annual membership.

2nd Referral: Complimentary Recreation Center 10-pass of your choice (Group Fitness, Kid Fit, Open/Lap Swim or Open Gym).

3rd Referral: Recreation Center of Highland Park hooded sweatshirt/apparel.

4th Referral: One-hour of Personal Training. (The Recreation Center does not guarantee a specific trainer, time or day for the complimentary training session. Training session will be set up with the Fitness Coordinator.)

5th Referral: One-month extension on your current annual membership.

To be eligible for our Fit Friends Reward Program, all referrals must be new members of the Recreation Center of Highland Park, sign up for an annual membership and present the Fit Friends referral card at the time of registration. Click here for your referral card.

Five Ways to Participate

  1. Become a Recreation Center Member: Membership offers you full access to the fitness center as well as open and lap swim, running/walking track access, open gym time and discounts on fitness and aquatic exercise drop-in classes.
  2. Become a Member for a Day: Pay a daily fee for access for the day to the Recreation Center, including full access to the fitness center as well as open and lap swim, running/walking track access and open gym time. Res/$12, Nonres/$15
  3. Drop in for a fitness or aquatic exercise class: Buy a single-class or a 10-class pass to participate in group exercise or aquatic classes.
  4. Register for Recreational or Learn-to-Swim classes: Participate in the Park District lottery to sign up for recreational offerings or Learn-to-Swim classes.
  5. All in our community enjoy FREE access to our walking/ running track. Come and visit us!
