Temporary Membership Hold
Annual Memberships may be placed on a temporary hold for a maximum of four consecutive months for any of the following conditions: temporary job relocation, illness, or seasonal change of residence. A temporary membership hold form must be completed in person at the Recreation Center of Highland Park. The form may not be faxed or mailed. Proof of circumstance will be required and will consist of a letter from the member’s company identifying the temporary relocation, a note from a doctor stating that the member is unable to participate in physical activity due to illness or injury, and/or proof of residency outside the state of Illinois. This policy cannot be offered retroactively and an official hold form must be completed in person at the Recreation Center of Highland Park 1-week prior to the start date of the membership hold.

  • Only annual members may put their membership on hold; non-annual membership may not be put on hold.
  • A maintenance fee is required for each month requested.
  • The membership obligation of the member will be extended from their current expiration date to include the number of days the membership is to be on hold as to be determined by the Recreation Center of Highland Park.
  • A membership may only be placed on hold one time within the course of an annual membership term and for a maximum of 4 consecutive months.
  • Couple and Family memberships must be put on hold in its entirety. All members of the membership will be included in the membership hold.
  • Temporary Membership Holds are permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Membership holds will not be accepted or processed unless the Recreation Center receives payment, a completed Temporary Membership Hold Form, and proof of circumstances.
  • Auto Charge Members: A temporary membership hold does not affect or change the payment schedule. Payments will be made during the initial 12 months of the membership, including months on hold. Payments will then not be taken during the extension period of your membership hold.

Proof of residency, family structure and school identification may be required.
