Season Privilege Purchase
Season golf privileges may be purchased by mail through the Park District Office, 636 Ridge Road, Highland Park, IL 60035, in-person at Sunset Valley Golf Course, 1390 Sunset Road, or by fax at 847.432.6721. Two proofs of residency are required on all purchases.

Season Lottery and Reserved Tee Time Info
Permanent weekend starting times are available on an annual basis at Sunset Valley. Permanent starting times will be available for weekdays. For additional information or an application regarding registration policies and fees, please call Sunset Valley at 847.432.7140 or click here.

Booking Tee Times

Phone Reservations
Greens Fee
Greens fee players may reserve tee times one month in advance. Reservations must be secured with a VISA, MasterCard or Discover card. Cancellations may be made up to 48 hours before play with no charge. Groups not showing for their reserved time are subject to being charged for the amount of players reserved.

Passholders
Passholders may reserve tee times one week in advance beginning at 6:30 a.m. Only one reservation per phone call is accepted. Passholders who make a reservation and don’t play during the reserved time may lose their reservation privileges and will be charged a resident daily fee.

In-Person Reservations
Walk-in reservations are accepted for Sunset Valley Golf Course passholders one week in advance at 5:30 a.m. at the golf shop. Only one tee time may be reserved per customer.

Holiday Reservations
Reservations for holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) are available to all players on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be made on the Sunday of the weekend preceding the holiday weekend.

Sunset Valley Golf Course has continuous cart paths for our motorized carts. Carts are not required and golfers may walk the course if they choose.

Open year round, weather permitting, with regulation greens and tees. Frost and frozen conditions may cause delays to scheduled tee times. Please call 847.432.7140 for updates and conditions. See the latest weather conditions on our website. The Park District reserves the right to close the facility due to extreme conditions at any time during the winter season.


Policies

No Smoking Policy
On January 1, 2008, the Smoke Free Illinois Act (410 ILCS 82/1) went into effect. Also, the Chapter 100 of the City of Highland Park Code was amended to incorporate the Smoke Free Illinois Act and further prohibit smoking in certain places including Park District facilities, parking lots and park grounds (including all athletic fields, miniature golf courses and driving ranges). Also included is Sunset Valley Golf Course, however, smoking is permitted 25 feet after the first tee throughout the entire 18 holes. ID Cards
  • ID Cards will be issued this season as the method of passholder identification. Photographs can be taken at the Pro Shop. All golfers will have new or updated photo IDs for the 2008 season.
  • Season playing privileges are valid from opening day, Mar. 15, 2008 through Nov. 30, 2008.
  • Season passholders must show their ID card at the Pro Shop. A receipt must be shown to the starter on the first tee before starting play.

Greens Fee Information
  • Players not having season privileges must pay the greens fee as established by the Board of Park Commissioners.
  • Players buying a greens fee ticket must register at the Pro Shop desk and receive a greens fee receipt.

Weekly Reservations/Lottery
  • The Park District holds a lottery for reserved starting times for every day. Times are held open for daily fee players each day. These times may be reserved up to four weeks in advance by prepaying for the fees or reserving them with a credit card.
  • Lottery information may be obtained by calling Sunset Valley Golf Course at 847.432.7140.
  • Lottery times for the 2008 season start Apr. 12 and run through Sep. 21.
  • The lottery drawing is held Sat., Mar. 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Recreation Center of Highland Park, 1207 Park Avenue West.
