Playgrounds, Sports Fields/Courts and Golf Course Closure

3/31/20 – In compliance with Governor Pritzker’s Illinois Stay at Home Order and the City of Highland Park, all Park District playgrounds, sports courts (including Sunset Woods skatepark, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts), sports fields, open recreation areas, and Sunset Valley Golf Club are closed to public use through April 30, 2020.

Our parks remain open, however, congregating in our Parks with any number of people is no longer permitted.  All beaches and dog parks are closed.

The best way we can prevent the spread of illness is to stay home, limit public outings to essential services, and always maintain a six-foot distance from others. Please note that for the health and safety of our community, the following activities are prohibited under the Stay at Home order:

For your health and that of our neighbors please remember to:

In effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we encourage you to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running or biking while complying with the Social Distancing requirements defined in the order.

For our community’s health and to discourage people congregating, we have closed the gates to several of our parks, dog parks, and beaches – Highland Park Golf Learning Center, Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Dog Park, Lincoln Park Playground, Cunniff Park Playground, Brown Park Playground,  Woodridge Park, Rosewood Beach, Millard Park, Moraine Park, Central Park, Heller Nature Center, Rory David Deutsch, Weil Tot Lot at Moroney Park and Tot Lot at Sunset Woods Park.

All restrooms in the parks, tennis/pickleball and basketball courts, and the Sunset Woods skatepark are closed.

We appreciate your cooperation during this challenging time.
