COVID-19: Facility & Program Status Update

5/29/2020 –

COVID-19 Resources | FAQs

The Park District is closely following the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, as well as guidelines provided by the CDC,  Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the City of Highland Park. Our priority is to return recreational activities safely and responsibly to parks, beaches, sports fields, and facilities for the social, emotional, and physical well-being of the community as soon as permissible.

Currently, our region is in Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan and we are now allowing congregating and participating in programs or services that serve groups of up to 10 people.  The Park District has adopted a comprehensive plan for reopening. The plan is fluid and updated regularly as new information is released. We ask for your patience and understanding as difficult decisions are being made regarding our reopening.

Unfortunately, some facilities may not open this summer or may be limited due to CDC and IDPH  social distancing and sanitation guidelines, the Restore Illinois Plan, and unique factors within our community. We appreciate your compliance with safety guidelines and procedures when visiting and recreating at our parks and facilities.

Here is an updated listing of facility, program, and event status.

FAQs

Spring Program Credits & Refunds/Virtual Program Registration

If you were enrolled in a Spring program that was canceled due to Coronavirus, your Park District account has been credited. Credits are available to use immediately via our online registration portal to register for future programming, including our NEW Virtual Program options. Any remaining credits will be refunded back to your original form of payment the first week of June.

If you would prefer a full refund, please complete a Credit Refund Request Form. Refunds will be issued in the order they are requested. Your patience is appreciated as refunds are processed. We are doing our best to issue them as quickly as possible, but there may be times where we experience a large volume of requests. Additionally, delays may be necessary to ensure accuracy.

A receipt will be sent to the email address associated with your Park District account once your refund has been processed.

How do I use my credit?

Your credit will apply automatically towards the items in your shopping cart once you’ve reached the Payment screen (will be listed under Summary of Charges).

How long do I have to use my credit?

Credits will be available until the 1st week of June. Any credits remaining after June 1 will be refunded back to your original form of payment.

I don’t plan on registering for virtual programs / I don’t want to wait until June / What if I just want a refund?

Please submit your Credit Refund Request here. Requests will be processed in the order they are submitted. Please be assured we are doing our best to issue refunds as quickly as possible, but there may be times where we are experiencing a large volume of requests. Additionally, delays may be necessary to ensure accuracy.

Refunds will go back to your original form of payment (cash payments will be refunded by check). Checks can take 2-4 weeks to issue. Refunds to your credit/debit card may not appear on your statement until the next billing cycle.

How will I know if my refund has been processed? How long will it take to receive my refund?

You will receive an emailed confirmation once your refund is complete. This will be sent to the email address associated with your Park District account. You can update your email address by logging in to your account here and selecting “Update Household Information.”
