Update: More Park and Outdoor Facility Openings

 

5/21/20 – As the Park District continues the safe opening of facilities and recreational activities, we are pleased to announce the following updates:

Family Play at the Parks – Effective immediately, family members from the same household may participate in passive recreation in parks and at beaches (including playing catch, flying a kite, relaxing on a blanket, etc.). Organized activities and congregating or recreating with members not in your household are not allowed (including organized basketball, football, baseball, soccer games, etc.). 

Rosewood Beach – The lower parking lot at Rosewood Beach will be open for resident parking only over the Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25, from 10 am – 6 pm. Passive recreation and leisure activities with members of your household is permitted.  Please maintain proper social distancing from others. Swimming is not allowed and the playground is closed. 

Outdoor Tennis and Pickleball – Beginning Friday, May 22, all outdoor tennis and pickleball locations will open. Social distancing restrictions and rules apply. Courts are limited, and reservations are required. Sunset Woods Park Clay Courts, which require daily maintenance, will remain closed until further notice. 

Pond Fishing – Effective immediately, individuals and family members from the same household may fish at Danny Cunniff Park, Larry Fink Park, and Foley’s Pond. While fishing, please maintain proper social distancing from others.  

Disc Golf – Now open.

Debbie Gottlieb Beitler Dog Park – Now open. Facility limited to 10 people at a time. Please limit your visits to one hour or less.  Any March, April, or June expired memberships have been extended.  A membership letter will be sent out next week with additional information.

Sunset Woods Skate Park – Now open. Facility limited to 10 people at a time. 

Public restrooms and water fountains will remain closed at all parks and beaches. Please plan accordingly.
