The Park District was awarded $60,000 through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Boat Access Area Development (BAAD) grant program to provide consistent access for boats utilizing the sand ramp. The project includes installation of a new “Yard Ramp,” to mitigate the sand ramp’s washout challenges, as well as the repair of the winch’s electric line.
The new sand ramp is now open!
The mounting structure for the new ramp has been installed and the sand ramp has been set in place.
Once final modifications are made, the ramp will be completed.
Work on the winch electric line has been completed.
Replacement of the winch electric line is currently underway.
The new sand ramp has been delivered to the site and will be set in place once the mounting structure is fabricated and installed.
The project is on track to be completed by late April.
