Kennedy Park was purchased in 1953 from the School District. The Park was completed in 1966. Originally, the Park was named Clavey Park, it was renamed in 1964 in honor of President John F. Kennedy. Kennedy Park was the first actual cooperative planning and subsequent development of both a school and park facility at the same time.
