When people say they love the Park District they may be talking about our 44 park areas, 3,000 plus recreational programs, or one of our facilities including our indoor ice arena and gymnastics center, indoor tennis and racquetball complex, a recreation center, a nature center, 18-hole golf course, aqua park, or our Lake Michigan beaches. But, we know that what continually sets us apart are our employees who day-in and day-out create incredible experiences for everyone who spends time at the Park District.

What Makes Us, Us

Our employees come from many different backgrounds, but we have a few things in common; we are team players, love to have fun, and always put our community and our patrons first.  Our employees know that we are in the business of fun, but that doesn’t make us any less of a business. We know when we need to get work done and when to let our hair down. The ability to lead, learn, and laugh when you are thrown into new situations daily is what we pride ourselves on and what makes us a great employer.

Our employees make us who we are by being who they are! They understand that the Park District is an integral part of the community.  Each of us plays an indispensable supporting role in delivering safe and remarkable experiences for our patrons.  Working here is more than a job. It fosters a sense of purpose and allows you to be a part of something bigger.
