Will the playground footprint change?

Yes, the playground footprint may slightly change to accommodate the addition of a picnic/gathering space.

The playground surfacing will remain wood chips.

The playground will be closed during the construction phase of the project, which is expected to begin in Spring 2026.

After careful evaluation of the playground, the Park District identified the playground equipment is in good condition and not in need of replacement. As part of this project, certain elements of the playground will be replaced to extend the useful life of the playground and improve user experience.
