In Spring of 2026, the Park District will be making improvements to Devonshire Park.
The Devonshire Park Refresh project goals are to improve accessibility, reduce maintenance, and update park features.
The Park District is extending the life of the playground and strengthening inclusivity by refreshing this space with new amenities, path improvements, and select playground updates.
The construction fence may go up as early as the week of April 6, 2026. The construction fence will be placed around the playground, and the playground will be closed during construction.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey last fall. Your feedback helped guide the design of the Devonshire Park Refresh Project and prioritize the playground elements selected to improve in the Devonshire Park Refresh Project.
Below is a quick look at what we heard from the community and how it’s shaping the project:
• Sand play is a favorite at Devonshire Park. The sand play will be refreshed with new sand and a curb.
• Interest in a picnic area near the playground. A new picnic table will be added in the playground area.
• The see-saw is well-loved. The see-saw will be replaced with a new, similar style see-saw, with room for 4.
• The rock-climbing walls are a hit. Rather than replacing a rock climbing wall, they will be refreshed with new handholds.
• The periscope and telescope need repair. Both the periscope and telescope will be replaced as part of this project.
• Interest in a new style wavy climber. The wavy climber will be replaced with a new style climber – check out the new climber below.
We appreciate the community’s input and are excited to bring these updates to Devonshire Park. Your input helps us make our parks better for everyone.
Other exciting upgrades:
• New park benches will replace existing benches.
• Park paths will be upgraded with concrete.
• New concrete curbing will replace the existing stone curbing.
• New molded bucket swing will replace one existing bucket swing.
• New netting to refresh the walking bridge play piece.
• Fresh playground engineered woodchip surfacing.
• New steppers will replace the old steppers.
• New turning bar playground element
