Beach Rules
  • A season pass or daily ticket is required for admission for all patrons, including residents and any child 4+.
  • Entry to drop off items or beach patrons is not permitted in the lower lot at Rosewood Beach
  • Rosewood Beach is a non-launching or anchoring beach. Kayaks, SUPs, boats and/or PWCs are prohibited.
  • No walking, climbing, stepping or jumping off the rocks
  • Loud music that may disturb other beach patrons is prohibited
  • Digging of large holes is prohibited. All holes must be filled in when leaving.
  • All commercial photography is prohibited without a permit and permission from the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • No cash is accepted at Rosewood Beach, credit or debit cards only.
  • Park District of Highland Park is not responsible for lost or stolen personal property.
  • Please dispose of litter/trash in the receptacles provided.

Rules may be added or amended by management as deemed necessary.

In accordance with the Illinois Department of Public Health, admission to the beach shall be refused to all persons having any contagious disease, infectious conditions such as colds, fever, ringworm, foot infections, skin lesions, carbuncles, boils, diarrhea, vomiting, inflamed eyes, ear discharges, or any other condition that has the appearance of being infectious. Persons with excessive sunburn, abrasions that have not healed, corn plasters, bunion pads, adhesive tape, rubber bandages or other bandages of any kind shall also be refused admittance because of the potential for transmittable disease.

The lake water is not suitable for drinking. Patrons should avoid swallowing lake water.

Spitting, spouting water, blowing your nose, and/or introducing contaminants into the beach water are not permitted.

All children who are not potty trained shall wear tightly fitting disposable swim diapers.

Feeding wildlife or other actions that encourage their presence is prohibited.
