At the most difficult of times, compassion and caring are what is needed most.  Like our whole community, the Park District is still recovering from yesterday’s horrific events. Today, we cared for the immediate emotional well-being of our staff and determined the next steps to get back to providing essential services carefully and compassionately to our community.  For us, it is a delicate balance – we have a responsibility to take care of our staff – many of whom are young people charged with taking care of young campers and guarding our beach and water park.  At the same time, we are responsible to our residents for providing essential recreational services for your emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing – all things that are especially vital now.   

To make our staff and our community feel supported and safe, tomorrow we are reopening the following facilities:

Tomorrow is another critical day for us to assess our ability to safely staff all our programs and facilities.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to our community, and we appreciate your patience while we navigate this difficult time.
