Kids Concert in the Park

Saturday, June 15 • 11am-noon

When Istvan starts rocking kids can’t help but join in, sometimes on stage, while their moms and dads cheer them on and enjoy the original tunes, an irresistible mix of interactive rock ‘n’ roll, country, pop punk and sing-alongs that get heads bobbing.

When it comes to the band there is nothing imaginary about its possibilities. No matter what size the venue or gathering, Istvan tailors the group to almost any situation or show. From strumming solo on the acoustic guitar to dynamic duos and trios or to the full five-piece rocking band. It’s not surprising why Istvan & His Imaginary Band have become kid and family music favorites.

Location: Moraine Park (2501 Sheridan)

Animals in the Park

Friday, July 12 • 4-5pm

JG’s Reptile Show brings you an exciting, educational, interactive, and hands on experience with reptiles found all over the world.

The reptile show will have you at the edge of your seat from start to finish, maybe even falling out of your seat with laughter at times. This is not like other shows where speakers stand up in the spotlight and talk for an hour while you listen and slowly doze off. It’s… just the opposite,YOU are part of the show and will get to answer and ask questions during the show, on top of being able to touch, pet, hold, and handle animals that you would usually only get to see through glass from far away at the zoo! Don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with these amazing animals most people fear and misunderstand.

Location: Memorial Park (405 Prospect Ave)

The Flat Cats, based in Chicago, IL, play a range of vintage and modern music from standards of the big band swing era to contemporary classics, providing quality entertainment for all walks of life.  This group of six talented musicians has been together for over 15 years bringing their love of the music and audience engagement to the forefront.

The Flat Cats have performed at many different venues and events throughout the Midwest, most recently the Irish American Cultural Center, Hey Nonny, and The Ritz Carlton downtown Chicago.  The band feels equally at home performing at concert venues, festival stages, weddings, and ballroom dance events.  Social swing dance events which oftentimes include a dance lesson prior to the show are another specialty!  Other types of events include roaring 20s parties, anniversaries, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, and corporate parties.
