Memorial Park is named in commemoration of World War 1 heroes from Highland Park. The Park is also the site of the Bob Robinson Bandstand. The Bandstand was a joint project led by the Highland Park Historical Society and the Park District of Highland Park. It was erected in honor of Robert G. Robinson, co-founder, President Emeritus, and curator of the Highland Park Historical Society. The Bandstand was completed and dedicated in 1980. The Park is leased from the City of Highland Park and maintained by the Park District of Highland Park.
