Rosewood Park’s playground is scheduled for replacement next year. In preparation, the Park District of Highland Park is beginning the planning process for Rosewood’s 2025 update this summer.

The playground design process is collaborative, and the community will have various opportunities to get involved.

Upcoming Engagement Opportunities

On Tuesday, October 22, the Park District is hosting a Community Open House at Rosewood Beach Interpretive Center (883 Sheridan Rd.). Please join us anytime between 5-7pm to learn about the project, review refined playground concept designs, and provide feedback!

There will be no formal presentation, boards with the refined playground concept design options will be shown and the project manager will be there to answer any questions.

If you can’t make it, a survey will be launched the following day to collect votes on your preferred design.

The Results Are In!

Thank you to everyone who provided playground equipment feedback through the online survey and visits to the park. Through this effort, the Park District heard from more than 20 people at the park and 46 survey respondents.

Your feedback will be used to refine the playground design options. In September, the refined options will be shared, and the community will have the opportunity to select their favorite playground design.

Summer Community Engagement Opportunities at Rosewood Park

The Planning and Projects team was at Rosewood Park on the following dates to share playground equipment options and collect feedback:

• Wednesday, July 24 from 9-11am
• Monday, July 29 from 3-5pm
• Tuesday, July 30 from 5-7pm
• Wednesday, Aug 7 from 9:30-10:30am
• Monday, Aug 12 from 4-5pm
