Deer Creek Racquet Club is Highland Park’s tennis destination for every member of your family to learn and improve their game, stay in shape and make friends. Our experienced professional staff provides one of the north shore’s most comprehensive tennis programs for young and old alike. Whether you are just taking up the game of tennis or you are an experienced player, Deer Creek Racquet Club has something for you. Deer Creek Racquet Club features six climate controlled indoor tennis courts, tennis pro shop, fully equipped locker rooms, and a comfortable lobby viewing area overlooking the tennis and racquetball courts. The club also features Racquetball & Wallyball courts, table tennis, indoor golf driving range and a small fitness area.

Membership Refund/Cancellation Policy:
• No refunds, cancellations, or holds for all Deer Creek Racquet Club memberships.
• Memberships are on an annual basis; pro-rating, month-to-month or half year memberships are not available.
• In lieu of a membership, non-member PCT (Permanent Court Time) guests’ only option is to pay a $10 guest fee for each visit.

Tennis-17For Adult Lessons

1.0-1.5 Drill & Play
This lesson will focus on a player who has limited experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball into play.

2.0 Drill & Play
This Drill and Play session will focus on players who needs on-court experience and has obvious stroke weaknesses but is familiar with basic positions for singles and doubles play.

2.5 Drill & Play
This Drill & play session will focus on players who are learning to judge where the ball is going although court coverage is weak.  This group can sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability.

3.0 Drill & Play
This Drill & Play session will have players who can place shots with moderate success and learn consistency with each shot.

3.5 Drill & Play
This group will have players who has stroke dependability and direction on shots within reach, including volleys, and seldom double faults.  Head Pro approval is required to join this group.

4.0 Drill & Play
This group will have players who has dependable strokes and the ability to use a variety of shots including lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys.  First serves can force some errors. Head Pro approval is required to join this group.

4.5  Drill & Play
This group has players who has mastered the use of power and spins, can hit serves with power and accuracy and is able to reach to the net with some success.  Head Pro approval is required to join this group.

Adult Skill Evaluation
New adults registering for 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 classes must have the Head Pro’s approval before registering for a class. Please call the Front Desk at 847.433.5450 to schedule an evaluation.

Cardio Tennis
A fitness program for all ability levels that really gets your heart pumping! It’s a social drill that doesn’t keep score.

Try something unique and action-packed! Provide your guests with an afternoon or evening of tennis, wallyball and/or racquetball!

For children’s parties, courts may be available Saturday evenings, some Sunday afternoons or school holidays. For further details, call 847.433.5450.

Kids Tennis Party (2-hour package):
Cost: One hour court time $100 plus pro cost
Max. in party: 10 children/tennis court
Includes: One hour of supervised tennis, two racquetball courts

Availability

Parties using tennis courts are available seven days a week from 6:30 a.m.-10p.m.  Racquetball, Table Tennis and Wallyball hourly court times are available seven days a week from 6:45 a.m.-9:45 p.m.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday closing times may vary based on court reservations.  Call 847.433.5450 for more information.   All parties using the party room must clean-up after themselves.

Equipment Rental

Deer Creek Racquet Club has two tennis ball machines available for rent for only $5 plus court cost.  We’ll even show you how to set it up.  Additional assistance is provided, if needed.

Outdoor Season

IMG_5777When the weather turns warmer, our program expands out onto our 40 outdoor courts.  We feature 36 hard courts and four clay surfaced courts.  Courts are located at the following locations:

  • Danny Cunniff Park, 2700 Trail Way, 12 courts

Sunset Woods Summer Clay Tennis Court Passes
The new pass system will ensure that Highland Park residents and Deer Creek Racquet Club members have access to these great courts.

  • Passes are free for HP residents & Deer Creek Racquet Club members with proof of residency/membership
  • Non-residents may purchase a pass for $50
  • Passes may be obtained at the front desk Mon-Fri 9am-3pm
    Clay Court Policies:
  • Hours: Memorial Day to Labor Day until 10pm daily
  • Use of clay courts requires a valid Summer Clay Court Pass. Passholders must have their valid pass with them at all times while on the courts.
  • Passholders may bring guests. However, any guest without a pass MUST play on the same court as the passholder.
  • Attendants hours vary, but spot checks will be performed to ensure pass compliance.
  • As a courtesy, players are encouraged to sweep their own court.

Outdoor Reservation Guidelines
All outdoor courts are FREE, open to the public and have no attendants.  Players are required to use the following rack-up system.

To reserve a court for play, hang your racquet in the designated area for that court prior to the scheduled court change.
You must remain with your racquet to validate your reservation.
Courts must be yielded promptly at the scheduled time.  Please be considerate and allow points in progress to be completed without interruption.

Most courts change on the hour.  There are some 1 & 1/2 hour courts at Larry Fink Memorial Park and Danny Cunniff Park.

All PDHP tennis programs have priority use during spring/summer/camp programs. Dogs are NOT allowed on the courts. Rollerblading, skateboarding and biking are not allowed on the courts.
