Pickleball Teaching Professional

Are you passionate about Pickleball? This may be the position for you! Under the direction of the Head Pickleball Professional, the Pickleball Teaching Professional is responsible for instruction for all areas of the pickleball program, including all classes, levels, training, special events, tournaments as well as performing assigned administrative duties for Club Pickle & Padel, a new facility of the Park District of Highland Park.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Duties

  • Teach private and group lessons as assigned in accordance with Park District policies.
  • Effectively communicate and demonstrate proper techniques, such as grip, stroke production, serve, footwork and rules.
  • Conduct instruction in accordance with the Club’s standardized methods and strategies.
  • Perform necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance taking, returning messages, and general correspondence with patrons and co-workers.
  • Discretely work through differences with fellow teaching professionals so as not to create distractions on the court or in front of clientele.
  • Arrive in time to start lessons punctually and allow enough time to fully complete the lesson and cleanup as scheduled.
  • Assist with summer camp programming.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of lesson pickleball programs, classes, levels, training, tournaments and special events.
  • Manage the proper placement of students in class levels based on skill level.
  • Complete timesheet daily by accurately inputting privates/groups/drop-in and administrative hours.
  • Participate and contribute to periodic staff meetings and professional development training.
  • Recruit participants for programming
  • Keep administrative staff apprised of any key issues, class assignment changes, and other significant developments in a timely fashion.
  • Solicit feedback and actively listen to others.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner, including using personal protective equipment and safety devices as required. Identify and report any safety hazards.
  • Attend all Park District required trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $30.00 – $40.00 Hourly based on certification.
