The Park Maintenance I position handles skilled and semi-skilled tasks, including ballfield prep, landscaping, turf/tree care, path maintenance, and custodial duties. Responsibilities also cover seasonal tasks like ice rink upkeep, snow removal, and facility preparation, along with light construction, equipment repairs, pesticide application, and assisting with building maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including ballfield preparation, landscaping, turf care, weeding, and tree/shrub maintenance
• Maintain pavement, paths, beach areas, restrooms, and garbage removal
• Seasonal tasks: outdoor ice rink upkeep, snow removal, lakefront/summer facility prep, and beach cleaning
• Perform planting, light construction, painting, equipment repairs, and pesticide applications
• Assist with natural areas restoration and occasional building/facility maintenance (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry)

Salary Range: $23.15 – $23.15 Hourly

Location: Various Park District Locations – Highland Park, IL
